What our customers have to say....

I have to admit, I was skeptical that your
traps would work as well as you said they would. They just seemed too good
to be true and I had come to believe – after trying everything else on the
market – that nothing short of turning my property into a toxic waste dump
would solve my fly problem.
It had become intolerable to work in the
garden with all the flies, drawn no doubt, by my own dog (even though I pick
up twice a day) and the neighbors dogs (who don’t pick up as often). I just
put out your fly traps yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised to see how
many flies were in the traps. I was finally able to do my morning garden
chores nearly unperturbed by flies. IT’S A MIRACLE!! For my bait containers
(bait provided twice daily by the dog), I used the rectangular tubs that
sticks of shortening come in. They actually snap into the bottom ring and
the trap can be moved around the patio without having to touch the bait
container. I plan to tell all my friends about your product (and the
shortening tubs).
Thank you for a wonderful product (IT ACTUALLY
WORKS!!).

Don't
usually do this, but had to praise your product. I absolutely cannot believe the
number of flies that I have trapped since receiving 3 of your traps late on
Friday. Actually set two of them up on Saturday and one on Sunday. Initially put
two in my back yard and one in the side yard near the trash cans. This morning
(Tuesday) I moved a second trap to a location almost next to the first (near the
trash cans). It's now 2:40 pm and I must have well over 50 flies (maybe even a
100) in each trap. Didn't even know that were that many flies in the area.
Thanks . .
. you have a truly great product.
Editors Note: Thanks for sharing your experience and the great
photos, Mike!
Mike
also says this about his choice of bait (clams):
I used some cheap tuna fish as recommended by
someone else on your site. BUT, I had even better success with clams. Long
story, but I bought the traps because we had eaten out for the first time a
few weeks ago and had problems with flies. I had hung up those sticky tape
things and they caught a few flies . . . and I say few, I mean a few. We had
planned a clam bake for this past weekend so I got onto the web and came
across your site. That's why needed the traps for the weekend. Anyway, in
getting the clams ready for the bake there were a few dead ones so I cracked
open the shells and used them as bait. What fantastic results. I'll take
some pictures in the morning and get them off to you.
And yes, you can use my comments on your
testimonial page.
Thanks again for your great product. Your traps
certainly played a big part in the success of the clam bake.

I second Kubi from UK’s
suggestion: Asian Fish sauce! WOW! Within one hour we caught about 50
flies. The best bait vessel we found was a large tuna can – just the right
height!. Thanks ridmaxco. I’m sharing my success stories on the WWW.

I bought two of these fly catchers and have used them in the North of Sweden
at our summer cottage. What a success, eating outside was a pleasure again.
Choosing the right bait was done by looking at the environment we lived in.
Basically, a very clean one, where garbage is not a problem. Flies up here
love the smell of fish above all else. So, I bought a bottle of Thai fish sauce,
the salty brown stuff. Fly heaven was found and the catcher caught flies all
summer long. Left to its own devices, decomposing flies were less successful
than fish sauce.
I just wish my mosquito catcher was as efficient .
Many thanks for a great product

What a device! We solved a couple of
bait problems and caught a hundred or so flies on the first day. My husband came
out to see and said, "MAN!".
Here's what I did: the fly bait
didn't particularly work (none of the fly baits do around here for some reason).
So I caught my cat in the act and used some fresh manure. With the other trap, I
stuck it in a pot of rotten apples, and wrapped burlap around it a bit so the
flies had just a tiny opening to get in. That day there were swarms and I'd
knock the traps a bit to startle the ones on the bait, and they'd fly up the
cone.
It seems pretty easy, my traps are so
full of flies it's hard to see what's happening!
I guess for me the key is fresh
manure. Today most of the flies are dead, not too many new ones. We caught most
of them. Anyway, I'm very happy with your product and certainly will recommend
it.

I live in Burbank, California and bought your traps for myself and for
friends.
I didn't like the look of the 5 gallon bucket and I needed some way to keep
my yellow lab from destroying the traps (she destroys everything). So I
purchased a garden trellis sort of cage from Lowes hardware store.

I would like to tell you thanks so very much. I have emplaced the traps
around the eating area. I made a couple of modifications due to wind. They have
cut the flies in this area significantly, cannot believe the difference. The
bait that I have found over here that works the best is fruit, go figure... in
the middle of the desert and they like fruit... came across that by observation.
I have attached a couple of photos to this email. I have no problem if you would
like to use them or this letter. The pictures attached are of the traps 6 hours
after emplacement. Again thanks.

I brought it home and put it together, which was a little bit of a chore,
as we Texans think its unmanly to read directions. I did study the
pictures, made a few modifications as I went then set it up on a poop bucket
where the flies seem to congregate. In a week's time, it was full of
flies. I was impressed, to say the least, as have been many visitors on my
place who couldn't believe their eyes. I rarely plug anything that is not
head and shoulders about the competition, and this trap has no equal that I
have ever seen.
Rid-Max Fly Trap ... NONE BETTER. The full trap filled to the max in less
than two weeks out and the newer one has been out less than a week. Several
people have asked me what is the best bait. For me, it is fresh dog poop
from my kennel operation in the 5-gallon bucket. I have also used wet range
cubes and a small amount of raw meat. Other people have said a mix of water
with syrup works well and dead animals like a dead chicken or squirrel
(which will draw a TON of flies but will start to smell pretty bad). The
main thing to use is what the flies in your area are attracted to.

Hi just sending you some photo's of my trap its only been out for 3
days and its cut down the fly problem... Well pleased with the results..
The bait i used was dog stool in the bottom of a bucket with the fly
trap standing over it.. a little dry stool in the trap. The bucket was
just outside the kennel space.. I would say that its cut down on the fly
problem by 90%. Its great..
We're just putting the info out about the traps and should be taking
them to dog shows and game fairs.

Check it out guys & gals. This is shaping out to be a terrible season for
flies, and we all know how big a pain in the @$$ these things can be. Biting
and hanging out on our dogs by the masses. Often even biting us as we
feed/water or otherwise maintain our animals. When that 1 fly bites you that
1 time, think about how it must feel to have about 15-20+ on each ear and
all on your back and rear end just feasting away on your flesh until it
begins to totally dissipate. That's bound to be the most frustrating,
aggravating pain in the world for these dogs. That's why fly control is so
important. Not to mention the possible transfer of germs and disease through
their nasty little bites. Check out these traps from Rid-Max. I have been
through every little product on the shelf at the local Vet Supply store. The
best you're gonna get from any spray, balm or ointment is temporary relief.
The only difference between them is how temporary the relief may be. The
Rid-Max trap is the absolute best way I've found to keep the flies under
control. I love these things and recommend anybody here that has fly
problems get themselves a couple of them for the yard. Believe me when I
say, in just a couple of days, the flies are all but gone or are at the very
least, well under control. Sometimes it doesn't matter how clean you keep
your yard, the flies still come around and they still torment your dogs. Get
them under control and off your dogs. Get Rid-Max traps!!

I
recently purchased 10 of your traps. they work wonderful. BUT, if you
could poke the legs all the way through the top, they can be bent over
with a stop and used to tie string to be hung up. And a light weight
corrugated PVC plate could be used as a base to put bait on. This is
what I did and it works GREAT.

I purchased 2 of your traps for my training and boarding kennel. I was a
little apprehensive about how they would work. All I can say is WOW!!! I
don't really have a fly problem but I thought I would try them as
preventative maintenance so to speak.
I'm truly amazed at the amount of flies in the traps after just a few
days. I'll be ordering more in the future!!!

I have to tell you that I was amazed at the success of the Rid-Max fly trap.
It is so simple to use and effective. We found that the Flies around our
horse barn in Missouri were attracted to sweet feed, and if someone
accidentally left the top of the sweet feed bin there was a veritable swarm
of flies. So we put a small scoop of sweet feed under the Rid-Max, and sure
enough we began to catch flies in the hundreds.
I noticed that as we walked past the traps most of the flies on the feed
took off vertically becoming trapped, but several took off sideways
escaping!! This we solved by putting the Rid-Max and bait in a feed bucket.
Surprisingly the flies found there way in just as well, but the catch rate
was higher. I guess they almost always took off towards the light -
vertically and were caught.
As advertised the fly catch rate slowly dropped over the weeks but then so
did the fly population, to the point that they were no longer an annoyance.
We stopped using our insecticide in the barn and we started giving Rid-Max
to the neighbors to reduce the fly population all around us!
It really works...Thanks.

A Tip from a Satisfied Customer -- now a
Rid-Max distributor!
I am a distributor of the Rid-Max fly Traps and I
have never yet not been able to help someone get their traps "cooking."
You should see mine !!! I have about 10 of them up and they totally fill
up in a weeks time, and I am sure each one hold several thousand flies
!! We have to clean them out all the time they fill up so fast.
Tell your
customers to hang their traps in a small bucket (99 cents at Wal-Mart or
goat people get milk replacer in a little bucket just the right size,
but it MUST be a small bucket). First of all it lets you hang the trap
on fences, which is very convenient. Secondly, when the flies crawl
under the trap that is in a bucket, when they take off the sides of the
bucket guide them to go up into the cone, and not out from under the
trap into wide open space.

I was having a terrible time with flies this year. I tried everything to
keep them off my dogs, from balms to sprays. The best I could get was
temporary relief. Finally, I found a link to the Rid-Max website and decided
to try a couple of the traps. In only 2-3 days the fly problem was under
control, and there were only a couple at a time in sight at any given time. I
was astonished at the results!! Now I recommend the Rid-Max traps to anybody I
know that is having problems with flies. Thanks

Thanks so much for your prompt and thorough reply. The
flies seemed to be not so bad for several days, so we kind of just forgot
about the traps. Then last week all of a sudden we had thousands of flies. We
bought some yeast right away and made the bait you recommended. We tried it
after only about 12 hours of ripening because we were so desperate. By the
end of the day all 4 traps (even though they were placed side by side) had
hundreds of flies buzzing around as well as a good layer of dead ones at the
bottom of each one. IT WAS TRULY AMAZING!
That yeast bait is still working really well, although
there are not as many flies now. I guess that is how it is supposed to be
when we are stopping the cycle. We still have more flies than normal and we
are trying to figure out where they are breeding.
We also purchased some dry fly bait that kills the flies
in 60 seconds. We have tried that under the traps and it also works well, but
they die so fast that there are no buzzing flies to attract more and we can't
actually see how many the traps are catching; although the layer of dead flies
is growing. I like the yeast bait much better.
I am SO glad that we already had these traps with the
last infestation because in the last 4 days we have trapped thousands and
thousands of flies. Anyway, thanks so much for your help. We just wanted to
let you know what worked, and that we are very happy with the fly traps now.
Sincerely,
Daniel Obst

Hi,
We tried out the Rid-Max in several
places and it does in fact work very well. Everyone who tried it was impressed
with the number of flies it caught. Many people in Switzerland live in close
proximity to farms and flies are real nuisance.

I am interested in becoming
a distributor. These are great little fly traps, they work and work and
work. Guess what I found to be a super fly bait for these traps.....milk!!
Being as I have dairy goats I realized that when I am emptying the milk
bucket I am swatting at flies, so I put some milk in a bucket and put
the Rid-Max in the bucket and hung the bucket on the fence and in just a few
hours there were hundreds of new flies in the trap. Also, I sell milk to
deer ranches who raise their baby fawns on it. They have big fly problems
too. And if the distributor price allows for it, I can place them in my
local feed stores also. So please let me know what I need to do to become
your south central Texas distributor.
Thanks for your consideration,

"The Rid-Max Fly Trap is one of the most effective methods
for trapping flies that we have ever seen, so much so we had to become
distributors! Before finding the Rid-Max we tried many other disposable traps
but having to deal with the chemicals and smell not to mention the mess, we
decided to search for something better.
We live in a world that has become extremely conscious of our environment and
what we are putting into it, and so we should. The fact that Rid-Max is
environmentally friendly and reusable makes it one of the main selling features.
Not only are we able to clean our traps quickly and without mess, we are doing a
huge favor to our environment!
We are dog owners and it was a real annoyance with the number of flies that
hovered in our yard. The test was to see how the Rid-Max handled this problem.
We were amazed when we put the trap outside and within minutes we had trapped
flies! It is a pleasure to sit outside and not be bothered by flies when we eat.
We also noticed a dramatic reduction in the fly population.
As campers, the Rid-Max is a definite must and the fact that it is collapsible
makes it very convenient to pack. Camping in certain areas of Ontario can be
challenging when it comes to the flies. We set up a couple of traps around our
camp and we are able to BBQ and eat in peace. The flies are still around, but
they go to the trap and not to our food.
We are thrilled to be distributors for the Rid-Max! Not only are we providing a
product that is easy to use and clean, we are giving our customers an effective
pesticide free fly control method which helps contribute to the cleanliness and
safety of our environment.
Sincerely,
Shar-Pel Distributing"

"I've been using the same Rid-Max Fly Traps around my farm and
within my kennel area for over five years. Beginning in early spring of each year,
we set the traps in strategic places, those best in sun-lit areas, and leave the
traps in place until the first snowfall at the end of
that year to curb the reproductive cycles of the various flies (and some other
flying insects) in our vicinity. The results not only are very impressive, the
Rid-Max Fly Traps
also have proven to be consistently efficient.
Our fly population has been greatly decreased with proper use of the Rid-Max Fly
Trap. I use fresh dog manure taken from the kennel area and place some underneath the
various traps each day to bait new flies,
which means no chemicals that could accidentally be reached by a child, a pet, or
livestock. Once there are buzzing insects inside the netting, more insects are
attracted to, and then trapped by, the natural pheromones produced by the
trapped flies, as well as to the natural bait.
It is not unusual to catch thousands of flies per Rid-Max Fly Trap, each and every month
during fly season. The bottom cone section of the Rid-Max Fly Trap is easily
detached and reattached to simply dispose of the dehydrated flies which have
accumulated inside the netting of the traps from their previous catches.
In summation: a Rid-Max Fly Trap could be the best $12 ever invested to make
your animals more comfortable, and to be able to enjoy your yard without the
misery of the constant bombardment and diseases of irritating and biting flies."

"Being a dog breeder and a country boy, I have seen first
hand the damage that can be done to our animals by flies. There is nothing quite
as painful as a horse fly bite. I have used other flytrap devices in the past.
The horrible smelling traps we've all seen, and the terribly inconvenient sticky
tapes that stick to everything but what you want. After these become full, or
stuck to, disposal is also a sticky, stinky, rotten mess.
After using the Rid-Max Fly Trap, I was simply amazed!!!! It worked immediately
catching flies. There is no mess, you simply dump it out when it's full of dead
flies and can re-use it over and over again. You simply bait it with stool and
the trap does the rest. I am very pleased with this product."
